The Lobi statuary is divided into three categories: the thílkòtína ancestor sculptures, the thílbià divination statuettes, and the bùthìba healing figures which vary in size. Many times the bùthìba depict a particular body posture: sitting, standing or swaying, with one or two arms uplifted. One noticeable feature of this bùthìba is the carved ribs that refers to the Lobi initiation body paintings.
